Watson is a question answering computer system developed by IBM. It is capable of
answering questions posed in natural language using machine learning technology. In 2011, Watson beat the former winners Brad
Rutter and Ken Jennings of
Jeopardy
show and received the first place prize of $1
million.
In 2014, IBM opened the Watson worldwide headquarter in New York City as part of their $1B Watson expansion plan. Currently, they are actively encouraging developers to use Watson as a platform to create apps to harness the power of Watson to various industries and to every corners of our lives. It might be a good timing for us to enter this amazing world and explore the possibilities and power of this new technology.
